What a great weekend we had! Warning! Warning! Too much information ahead... I did, however, spend the majority of that time either curled up in a ball or in the bathroom. At first I thought it was just something I had eaten, but by the end of the second day, I realized it twas not zee food.
My mom came up to visit and we went to the grocery store on Saturday. We have to drive at least 20 miles to get to a Hell Mart, as Rubi calls them and I tend to agree. I hate shopping there, due to a previous um..."encounter" with a certain store that turned me off of the whole chain in general, but I've applied there (not the same store) again 'cause I needs a J.O.B. The prices at the IGA are so much more! A 16 count sliced cheese package was nearly twice the price at the IGA in town. I don't want to sound stuck up, but I don't like shopping at Sav-A-Lot either because everything tastes like cardboard. Just like the bread at the Dollar Store tastes like the Dollar Store smells. I swear! Just try it out, you'll see. Ok...with all that said... shoo that was a lot of rambling... I love this particular Wal-Mart store! It is not laid out like any other store I've ever been to. The dog food is not next to the pharmacy, the photo lab is right up front for easy access, no fast food place attached to it (for those parents who feel like I do, I hate buying all those groceries just to have the kids cry for McDonalds!). The store is ALWAYS clean. The shelves are not all that gross tan color that's stained, but a nice black with speckles. The aisles are always clear and they are usually not very busy. Which means I can get in and out with the quickness. Just the way I like it.
Moral of this longwinded story is I bought the kids some water balloons! I had no idea just how small those teeny tiny balloons were! After about 20 balloons, my husbands fingers would not allow him to tie anymore. I was hoping that these mere 20 balloons would deter the kids attention away from the fact that we still haven't set up our pool yet. Mainly because I can not find the plug for the drain. I remember picking it up while moving. I remember putting it in my pocket. I don't remember what I did with it after that though. It's going to be one really hot and really long summer with no pool.... Donations of an pool drain plug or monetary donations for a new pool are always welcome.

Let's Be Honest
If Blogger had a more user friendly mobile app, I would be posting here more often. I rarely have a chance to sit down at a computer much so the blog is the first to get neglected. I am fairly active on Instagram and Tumblr because they are much more friendly to people on the go.
I'm still keeping this space because it still holds a special place in my heart, but I'd love for you to come visit me in my other places too!

Doing | I have been doing a whole lot of letting go. I'm not sure what it is, but something has just clicked in my brain/body. I'm done being completely stressed out about pretty much everything. I am slowing learning that things are what they are and if I can improve it, good, if I can't, move on.
Thinking | The husband's new job seems to be going well. He works four 12-hour shifts then he is off for four days. Shifts are 6am to 6pm and switch to 6pm to 6am every month. He just started his month of night shifts this week. It's a little strange.
Reading | Oh lord... uh yeah. Not much. I've been reading up on my tarot book, but that's about it.
Watching | All the things! I desperately wish that TV networks would space out when shows return for the "season". Every Fall I struggle to figure out what to watch, what to record, what to skip. I know, I know... #firstworldproblem.
Eating | September was pretty hectic and eating well was, unfortunately, not a big priority. We ate quite a few frozen pizzas and hot dogs. Hopefully, I can get myself organized again and being doing meal plans.
**Recipe I think you'd like: Frito Chili Pie from the Pioneer Woman. Husband and son wanted chili so I made this. They didn't eat it with the chips, but I threw some in a bowl, topped it with chili and gobs of cheese! By itself, it still made a nice tasting chili.
Weather | A little bit of cool weather, a little bit of warm weather. Definite prayers for all those living in South Carolina with too much water and those living in California with too little.
Work In Progress | I'm working on a Heirloom Chevron Throw.
